Like the other state government schemes such as Haryana (Ladli Scheme), Karnataka (Bhagyashree Scheme), Rajasthan (Raj Shree Yojana), Maharashtra (Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme), Madhya Pradesh(Ladli Laxmi Yojana), and West Bengal (Kanya Prakalpa Scheme), State Government of Gujarat also announced Vahli Dikri Yojana. Under this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance to the girl child. Beneficiaries will get this assistance in three stages. For the successful implementation of the scheme in the state, the government has sanctioned 133 crore rupees in the state budget for this scheme.

Selection Procedure Under Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana

Applicants need to fill online as well as an offline application form. Yet the government has not disclosed any defined procedure. Here are some common steps which applicants need to follow:

Keeping in view the current scenario of sex ratio in the state, the Wahli Dikari scheme has been announced. Many girls are either killed at birth, or have to forcibly leave schooling. In Gujarat, about 30% of girls leave school before they reach class 9th and around 57% of girls leave school before they reach class 11th. The sex ratio in the state is 883 girls per 1000 boys.

Seeing all this as a significant concern, the Gujarat State Government has launched this new scheme. In this scheme, money is given to the girls who are eligible and apply for this scheme. This money is provided at specific intervals of life.

Eligibility of the student under the guardianship scheme

• Daughters born on or after 2/8/2019, benefit of this scheme.
• A maximum of two daughters of the couple and the benefits of the scheme will be attainable
• Both the couple’s first and second daughter’s benefits will be attainable, but the couple should have the mother’s offspring operation after the second marriage.
• If the first daughter and second daughter are available, then the second daughter will be able to get help but after the second daughter the couple.
• In the case of giving the first couple and the second daughter together or more together, in all cases, the benefit of the parents’ daughter plan is available but after the daughter.
• 2,00,000 income per year.
